To say that Annie Last's cycling career has enjoyed a meteoric rise would be a huge understatement. She postponed taking up a place at medical school in 2009 and quickly got results on two wheels, placing second in both the 2010 and 2011 under-23 World Championships.
Having taked youth and junior national cross-country titles in 2006 and 2008 respectively, Last won her first senior mtb title in 2010. She successfully defended the title in 2011.
An international World Cup win in April 2012 showed that she was in great form ahead of the London 2012 Olympic Games where she was selected to represent Great Britain at the age of 21.
