Competitor killed in time trial collision

British time trialling has suffered another fatality after a competitor died while competing in the Midlands last night.
82 year old Ken Rushall was in collision with a lorry while taking part in the Rugby Velo club ‘10' on the K10/10F course.
He was a member of the Rugby RCC.
According to Warwickshire police, the fatal collision occurred at approx 7.15 pm on the A4071, near to the A45 junction at Rugby.
Two ambulances and a paramedic in a rapid response car were sent to the incident, but a West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: "From the outset it was apparent that nothing could be done to save this person who was confirmed dead at the scene."
Police are currently investigating the collision. They want to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either the yellow and white Mercedes lorry or the cyclist travelling towards the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to call PC Matt Morrall on 01926 415000, voicemail 10928.
