Italian clothing company Santini sponsors two big rides
17th February 2011 Words: Nick Rearden
Votwo (VO2) the company that organised the popular Specialized Silverstone event last year, is making that two rides in 2011 but this time in conjunction with Santini, a first-time sponsor of sportives in this country, and the National Trust.
The organisers clearly have an affinity with car racing venues because the second of the two events, on July 31st, will be headquartered at the Castle Combe circuit near Chippenham in Wiltshire which is already the scene of a whole programme of races on midweek days in the summer.
Both events will feature a choice of 100, 50 or 25 mile routes and, certainly in the case of the Castle Combe ride, there will be fierce challenges taking in the hilly but quiet country lanes around the Bath area .
The first ride, on July 3rd, will be based at the Dorset stately house Kingston Lacy which is owned by the National Trust. Highlights of this event will be a choice of excursions into the spectacular Isle of Purbeck and the Jurassic Coast.
