Junior riders wanted for Canyon mentoring scheme
Canyon bicycles has launched a mentoring scheme aimed at developing junior riders - and they are looking for riders aged between 15-16 years old to join its 'Young Heroes' programme.
Selected riders from across Europe will all receive a carbon Canyon pro bike equipped with Campagnolo Record components, team kit and mentoring from sprint legend Erik Zabel, who has been involved in the development of Mark Cavendish. Participation in the scheme lasts for a year.
Application to the scheme costs nothing, and a panel of judges including Zabel will assess all of the applications before drawing up a shortlist. Those on the shortlist will then be invited to a get together before the final 'team' is selected.
Further information and an application form can be found on the Canyon website.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
