£10,000 PRIZE POT ANNOUNCED FOR SHIMANO 24
Organisers of the Shimano 24 (July 12-13, 2008) have announced a prize pot amounting to over £10,000 worth of cash and high-end cycling kit.
Madison, the UK distributor for Shimano and financial backer of the world's first 24 hour road challenge have put together a prize package for each category of team taking part in the event.
As has previously been announced, the event will be limited to only 170 teams of five riders in its inaugural year, so there will never be a better opportunity to get your hands on the prizes
The Shimano 24 organisers recommend you submit your team entry as soon as possible. However, numbers permitting, entries will be accepted right up to a couple of days before the race. The cost of entering is £210 per team (£42 per rider).
The challenge is open to riders of all abilities and as such the field will be spilt into groups so everyone has an equal chance at winning, and let's face it, as much as taking part in this event will mean you will be part of making history, it is the winning that counts!
Prizes will be broken down as follows:
Group 1 - £3,000 cash prize fund
