Bradley Wiggins's Team Sky time trial bike up for sale
Your chance to own one of the fastest time trial bikes out there, a Pinarello Bolide as ridden by Sir Bradley Wiggins - as long as you can afford the asking price
One of Sir Bradley's Wiggins's Team Sky Pinarello Bolide time trial bikes is currently being offered for sale online – for a penny short of £10,000.
The distinctive black and blue Bolide aero machine comes in almost perfect condition, and with – as you would expect – a complete pro spec. Plus one of the most important things: Wiggins's name on the top tube.
Retailer and manufacturer Dolan Bikes of Ormskirk has the Wiggins bike for sale in its 'Factory Outlet' store for £9,999.
The bike is offered, naturally, in only one size: 56.5cm. It is equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic drivetrain and Mavix CXR wheels shod with Mavic CXR-01 tyres.
The long 177.5mm cranks have a Stages power meter installed. Set-up of the Pinarello aero bars is to Wiggins's specification.

Bartape appears to be minimal - just some lengths of grip tape to stop the hands from slipping. Chainrings are 58/44 matched to a tight ration 11-23 cassette.

Watch: Mikel Landa's Pinarello Bolide
A Bolide model was first used by Wiggins during the 2013 Giro d'Italia. His main Bolide had gold rather than blue frame highlights, to mark his 2012 Olympic time trial gold medal. That leads us to believe that the model for sale is a back-up bike. Pinarello has just introduced a new Bolide model.
Given its provenance and near-perfect condition, the £9,999 asking price doesn't seem wholly unreasonable as the Bolide frameset alone retailed for £9,300.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
