Cofidis: Team Profile
COFIDIS
UCI ProTour team
Last year the Cofidis team was perhaps the strongest of all the major French teams, but their line-up appears to have taken a battering over the winter.
Sylvain Chavanel, Nick Nuyens, Maxime Monfort and a host of others all moved on to fresh pastures. The only saving grace is that David Moncoutié agreed to stay with the team.
Losing Chavanel was a major blow, but Amaël Moinard is a future prospect whilst Rémi Pauriol is a reliable winner both of whom may help to fill the void.
Cofidis threatened to withdraw from the ProTour last year, and this year have only 24 riders, and will ride less races as a result in 2009.
