EX-PROS WANTED FOR NEWPORT NOCTURNE PAST MASTERS RACE
WANTED, for the Shropshire Star Newport Nocturne on Saturday night, September 1, ex pros who can still turn pedals in anger.
The occasion is the Past Masters race open to anyone who has held a pro licence.
This bi-annual favourite has featured former World number one Sean Kelly, Britain?s Super Sid Barras and Milk Race winner Les West. It is Britain?s only floodlit bike race and past editions have attracted a 14,000 crowd to the one-mile circuit.
The race proceeds are donated to Dave Rayner Fund, which pays for young riders to race abroad.
Co-Promoter, Nick Jeggo explained "We always put on the Past Masters event just before the main Pro/Elite race. It seems to attract a different sort of cycling fan, people who have followed the sport for years and who want another chance to see the top riders from their era perform again."
"The Nocturne is only a few weeks away, so we?d like any ex-Pros to get in touch with us as soon as possible. It would also be great if some of them got sponsors for the night and gave the proceeds to the Dave Rayner Fund." said Nick.
Nick can be contacted at info@bikerace.co.uk and on 01952 810964 (10am ? 7pm) or 07967 452688 (any time).
