Join the Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome for their Spring Opener
Fund-raising evening of roller racing in East Dulwich on Friday, March 28
The Friends of Herne Hill Velodrome have organised a fund-raising evening of fun for the iconic London race venue in the shape of the Spring Opener, taking place at The Cherry Tree pub in East Dulwich on Friday, March 28.
The main event of the evening will be a series of roller races organised by Rollapaluza. Prizes will be awarded to the fastest man and woman on the night.
There will also be an auction of cycling memorabilia and desirable items, to be led by an as-yet-to-be-revealed celebrity guest.
Entry is free, but anyone attending is encouraged to donate to the fund, which is aiming to raise money for the Herne Hill Velodrome pavilion and for the Rollapaluza in schools programme.
Doors open at the Cherry Tree at 6.30pm, with racing commencing at 7pm.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
