AFTER his convincing victory in the National 10 a fortnight ago, Michael Hutchinson (In-Gear Quickvit RT) claimed the 25-mile title at Sawtry, Cambridgeshire, on Sunday.
The pre-race favourite took his second 25-mile title with a time of 50-49 for the out and back course, pushing Charles McCulloch (Shorter Rochford) into second by 1-01, while third-placed Ben Instone (Scientific Coaching) was another 15 seconds back.
McCulloch, who was third in the national ten, also led Shorter Rochford to the team prize alongside Richard Bradley and Bill Moore.
Earlier in the day, in-form Halfords Bikehut ace Sharon Laws proved she is a force to be reckoned with in time trialling as well as on the road when she won the women?s title.
Beijing Olympics hope Laws won by more than a minute from her nearest rival, clocking 57-04 to beat National 10-mile Champion Julia Shaw into second spot by 1-03, while Michelle Brown (Wyre Forest CRC) was third with 59-21.
And with Emma Trott taking sixth place with 59-55, Laws led Halfords Bikehut to the team prize with the help of Jessica Allen who covered the distance in 1-02-12.
