Limited edition Rapha Tom Simpson jersey already selling on eBay for £205
Originally retailing at £130, one eBay auctioneer is set to make a quick buck by flogging his limited edition Rapha Tom Simpson jersey for £205
As is the case with a lot of Rapha cycling clothing, the limited edition Tom Simpson jersey flew off the virtual shelves to such an extent that the online shop has already sold out.
Fear not, though, if you missed out - you can get one off eBay, although you'll have to be prepared to pay well over the £130 RRP, with one user selling his for £205.
While Rapha pledged to donate some of the proceeds from each jersey sale to Simpson's family, in order to fund the upkeep of the memorial to the rider on Mont Ventoux, it's hard to imagine the person selling it on eBay will be handing over any of their healthy profit.
But that's the way it goes with sports memorabilia these days, the rarer it is, the more desirable it becomes to online auctioneers.
If you want to pay homage to the great British cyclist without shelling out 200 notes you can visit a new exhibition celebrating his life, brought together by Cycling Weekly and Rapha.
The free show will run at the Rapha Cycle Club in Manchester between September 17 and November 1, featuring photos and memorabilia from Simpson's prolific career.
