NOCTURNE SERIES FOR 2009
After the success of this year's Smithfield and Salford Nocturne night-time criterium races, organisers have chalked in two further dates for 2009 to make a four-race series.
Naturally, Smithfield and Salford will return with two new locations to be confirmed over the coming weeks by event organisers Face Partnership. The list of provisional dates and locations is as follows:
6th June Provisional - Smithfield Nocturne (London)
20th JuneLocation TBC
1st August Location TBC (post Tour de France Crit)
29th AugustProvisional - Salford Nocturne (Salford Quays)
Fans are treated to fast-paced circuit racing around a flood-lit city-centre course. The races have attracted some very high profile riders so far, and this expansion will no doubt attract many more. The Smithfield Nocturne was the original event, first run in 2007 to much acclaim - it attracted around 5,000 spectators and went on to win an tourism award from Visit London.
