Saxo Bank take over in Tour of Denmark
Team Saxo Bank stamped its authority over its home race, the Tour of Denmark, with Matti Breschel winning Friday's third stage and taking the overall lead.
Breschel's team-mate and fellow Dane Jakob Fuglsang came second on the stage and is now also second overall. Fuglsang won the race in 2008 and 2009.
Breschel and Fuglsang came across the line 17 seconds ahead of Joost Van Leijen (Vacansoleil) in the six-day race. Van Leijen sits in third place overall.
The UCI 2.HC-ranked Tour of Denmark concludes on Sunday, August 8.

Nigel Wynn worked as associate editor on CyclingWeekly.com, he worked almost single-handedly on the Cycling Weekly website in its early days. His passion for cycling, his writing and his creativity, as well as his hard work and dedication, were the original driving force behind the website’s success. Without him, CyclingWeekly.com would certainly not exist on the size and scale that it enjoys today. Nigel sadly passed away, following a brave battle with a cancer-related illness, in 2018. He was a highly valued colleague, and more importantly, an exceptional person to work with - his presence is sorely missed.
