The 2005 under-23 British MTB champion debuted for GB as a junior in 2001 and has represented his country off-road in World Cups, World Championships and Commonwealth Games. He finished 4th overall in the 2008 Premier Calendar series.
Richardson stepped up a gear in 2009 with an impressive overall win in the Ras; the Bristolian then moved to pastures new with a move to Sigma Sport for the 2010 season, where he kick-started the year with his first Premier Calendar win at the Tour of the Reservoir.
Despite a strong finish to his career, Richardson's best results were behind him, and he retired from racing at the close of the 2012 season.
