TADROS BACK ON TOP IN STELLA
THE overall winner in 2004 but missing last year because of a knee injury, Pete Tadros (In Gear-Quickvit RT) was back on top with a double victory in the GS Stella sporting courses time trial weekend in West Sussex.
Tadros clocked a record 25-05 over an 18-kilometre course based on Storrington to finish with 17 seconds to spare over Chris Birch (East Street Cycles) on Saturday, and Tadros clocked 58-15 in today?s 42km leg to beat Paul Pickup (Agiskoviner.com) by a hefty 1-33 margin.
Overall, Tadros finished with 2-30 to spare over Birch, with Pickup moving up to third.
Results.- Stage 1.- Pete Tadros (In Gear-Quickvit RT) 18km in 25-05 (course record); 2, Chris Birch (East Street Cycles) 25-22; 3, Mike Coyle (VC Etoile) 26-01. Team.- AW Cycles 1-21-09. Stage 2.- Pete Tadros 42km in 58-15; 2, Paul Pickup 59-48; 3, Steve Dennis (East Grinstead CC) 1-00-19. Team.- AW Cycles 3-07-19. Overall.- Pete Tadros 1-23-20; 2, Chris Birch 1-25-50; 3, Paul Pickup 1-26-27. Team.- AW Cycles 4-28-28.
Alex Dowsett (100 per cent Me) scored his second successive win in the Imperial RT Winter Road Race Series on the Hillingdon circuit in West London.
Dowsett outsprinted AW Cycles pair Tom Smith and Vince Halpern at the end of a 57-kilometre race.
Result.- Alex Dowsett (100 per cent Me) 57km in 1-17-10; 2, Tom Smith (AW Cycles); 3, Vince Halpern (AW Cycles) all same time.

The final round of the popular Notts and Derby Cyclo-Cross League was called off because the course at Watchwood Plantation, near Calverton, was put out of action by damage to trees caused in the recent gales. It is expected that the league will now be decided over riders? best 10 results from the 12 events which have taken place.
