Witnesses sought after cyclist attacked near St Albans
Police are searching for witnesses after a man suffered facial fractures after being set upon while riding his bike in London Colney on Tuesday evening
The 27-year-old was cycling down the High Street at around 5.35pm when he was reportedly hit on the side of the head in a seemingly unprovoked attack.
Hertfordshire Police say the attack occurred outside the chip shop near the junction of Kings Road, with officers looking to trace two men seen standing over the body after the man had hit the ground.
Detective Sergeant Karen Lewis from the Local Crime Unit, St Albans, said: “I am also aware that there were a number of other people in the area at the time who may have witnessed what happened and I would ask anyone with any information to please contact me.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Lewis on the non-emergency number, 101. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
