New Tenways CGO800 Plus city electric bike offers an energised urban ride
Eight speed gearing suits the Tenways CGO800 Plus electric bike to hillier city and leisure riding

Dutch electric bike company Tenways has carved a reputation for its quality e-bikes at affordable prices. It has just launched a new model, the CGO800 Plus. It’s a stylish city e-bike with clean lines that’s perfect for commuting, but also ideal for leisure rides at the weekend.
Most of Tenways’ bikes feature singlespeed gearing, using a Gates belt drive. While that’s great for flat rides and is low maintenance, even with the assistance of the rear hub electric motor, it does make hillier rides harder.
But the new Tenways CGO800 Plus has 8-speed Shimano Claris gearing plus a 250 watt, 45Nm motor, so there’s more flexibility to take on commutes with uphills and downhills and hillier leisure rides. Hydraulic disc brakes ensure reliable braking.
A comfortable assisted ride
The Tenways CGO800 Plus has the ingredients of a classic Dutch bike with a relaxed, upright seating position that lets you look around you as you ride. The quiet motor makes for an easier ride and offers up to 100km range from the high capacity 475Wh removable battery.
A high-precision torque sensor ensures that you get the right amount of assistance from the rear hub motor when you need it and, as with all UK e-bikes, you’ll get motor assistance up to 25km/h (15.5mph). There’s a multi-language LED control panel neatly integrated into the stem which also offers turn-by-turn navigation.
The CGO800 Plus has a step-through metal frame, so it’s easy to get on and off whatever you’re wearing. It is sold in a single frame size to suit riders from 160cm to 195cm in height and in Midnight Black and Sky Blue colour options.
There’s a quality Selle Royal saddle fitted for comfort over longer distances and an SR Suntour suspension fork helps smooth front-end bumps. The 48mm wide puncture-proof tyres provide even more road smoothing comfort and plenty of grip.
A rear rack with integrated light provides on-bike load-carrying capacity, so you don’t need to use a backpack, making carrying things easier. Tenways adds extra usability with mudguards and a kickstand.
Despite the addition of gears, the new Tenways CGO800 Plus is still priced the same as the singlespeed CGO800S at £1,899 in the UK.
