Nominate your club or clubmate for a Cycling Weekly award

Once again we're looking for the best cycling club in Britain and the heroic volunteers who help keep the cycling scene working up and down the country.

Every year the Cycling Weekly awards recognise the very best in road cycling, not just the elite riders, classic winners and future stars, but the grassroots scene that is so essential to the sport.

So if you're part of a great club, or know someone who goes the extra mile for their local cycling scene, here's your chance to get them the recognition they deserve.

Nominations close on October 25 and are open to UK clubs only.

Club of the year

If your club goes above and beyond, now is the chance to get it crowned as Britain's best. 100s of clubs enter every year, so in order to stand out, get together with your club mates and ensure you tell us why your club is so good. We're not looking for lots of people nominating one club for lots of different reasons, we're looking for a nomination that blows us away

What we're looking for:

The below list is a guide to the characteristics we are looking for in our club of the year. We do not expect all clubs to be able to tick off everything on the list.

• A club with a healthy, diverse membership with riders taking part in a variety of disciplines and types of events
• Engagement with the local community, to bring new members in and demonstrate the positive aspects of cycling
• Rider development. The ability to take a rider of any age and ability and help them improve, be that in race results, fitness or qualifications
• Supporting the scene. The best clubs are the ones who put on cycling events, big and small. From road races to cyclo cross events and sportives.
• Regular riding. Every good cycling club is underpinned by regular, well organised rides that attract new members and bring everyone together.

Local Hero

Every local cycling scene has a few heroes who turn out week in week out to help put on events. From time keepers to marshals, coaches and ride leaders, these are the people who give up their time and on whom the local scenes depend. Last year's winner was super volunteer Sharon Dyson.
