Photo special: Russell Downing at Eddie Soens
Russell Downing chalked up back-to-back wins over the weekend, winning the Eddie Soens in Liverpool on Saturday and then the
Grand Prix de Lillers
in France on Sunday.
The newly-bearded Downing is now part of the Scottish Endura Racing outfit, having shifted from WorldTour squad Sky in the off-season.
Although Downing was instrumental in kicking off Sky's inaugural season with great wins at the Tour de Wallonie and Criterium International, last season was not quite so fruitful for the man from Rotherham. But now he's back doing what he does best - scooping up wins in tough, punchy races.
Cycling Weekly photographer Andy Jones was at the Eddie Soens Memorial road race on Saturday to capture Downing's winning return.
