Michael Hutchinson beating rival Matt Bottrill by around a minute - you would be forgiven for thinking this was the result of the latest round of the Rudy Project Series.
However, many of the country's top names in time trialling decided to ride the Burton and District CA 25 at Etwall in Derbyshire, and it was there that Hutchinson (In Gear-Quickvit) clocked 46-57 for the course to Uttoxeter and back, beating Bottrill (Drag2Zero.com) by 58 seconds.
Sporadic showers throughout Saturday's event did little to affect the speed of the course, and Hutchinson went within a few seconds of breaking his own course record set last year.
Were it not for Hutchinson, Drag2Zero.com would've dominated the podium with second-placed Bottrill being followed closely behind by team-mates Charles McCulloch and Jeff Jones on 50-20 and 50-37 respectively.
The following day, there was a different Drag2Zero.com rider atop the podium in the Rudy Project Series, with Mark Holton winning convincingly in a field of 15 for the senior race.
He covered the 31-mile, two-lap version of the Bassenthwaite circuit in Cumbria in 1-06-19, more than three minutes quicker than Clifton CC triathlete Philip Graves.
London Dynamo's Rebecca Slack was fastest of the women, covering the one-lap version of the course in 36-49 to win by almost four minutes.
Elsewhere, Drag2Zero.com were also on top of the podium in the Warwickshire Road Club 10 at Salford Priors, with Jon Simpkins clocking 20-18 to win by almost a minute from Team Echelon's Simon Harradine.
We all know that British Cycling can produce cycling stars as if they're shelling peas, but there was a startling reminder of just how well they are doing when six members of the 100 Per Cent Me GB Academy dominated the top six positions in the Ravensthorpe CC 10-mile event near Ferrybridge in West Yorkshire.
Sam Harrison was fastest with 20-47, and his team-mates Joe Kelly, George Atkins, Tom Moses, Alistair Slater and Owain Doull were right behind him in the result and were the only riders to go under the 22-minute mark.
The Q10/19 course at Tonbridge in Kent produced quicker times though, with Erick Rowsell taking the win in the Catford CC event with 19-20. Pete Tadros (In Gear-Quickvit) was second with 19-54 and Will Mangar (Kent Cycles RC) third with 20-04.
VC St Raphael clinched a one-two in the Andover Wheelers 10 at Picket Piece in Hampshire on Sunday. Stephen Walkling clocked 20-37, while team-mate Simon Tout took second with 20-46. Walkling's wife Lesley was fastest woman, 14th overall with 23-41.
