It’s time to set a challenge and hit the turbo or the open road for Alzheimer’s Research UK
If you are looking for a final cycling challenge to end 2021 on a high, then look no further than Cycling Down Dementia for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Between now and 31 December, challenge yourself to cycle a distance of your choice and see how far you can push yourself.
Whether it be 100km, or pushing yourself further to rack up 500km, 1,000km or 1,500km, you’ll be supporting a great cause in Alzheimer’s Research UK.
The best thing about this challenge is you don’t need to let the inconsistent British winter weather hamper your progress! You can take part out on the open road, or in the comfort of your own home on a turbo trainer.
The flexibility of Cycling Down Dementia allows you to tailor the challenge to your everyday needs and busy schedule, meaning you can adapt your riding to fit around your spare time, terrain, and current fitness levels.
You can also set yourself a fundraising goal for your challenge for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Why not try to raise £150 before the end of the year? Every pound raised helps vital research into dementia and helps Alzheimer’s Research UK get one step closer to finding a cure.
Taking part in Cycling Down Dementia is not only a great way to help others, but it will also be extremely beneficial to your own physical and mental health, with physical activity proven to help reduce the risk of developing conditions like dementia. You can find out more about the impacts of physical activity on your brain health from Alzheimer’s Research UK here: https://www.alzheimersresearchuk.org/brain-health/think-brain-health/
This challenge is open for cyclists of all abilities and ages, whether you want to take on a new challenge to end the year, or want to support Alzheimer’s Research UK.
What more incentive do you need? Well, how about a free neckwarmer when you raise £100, or a free cycling jersey when you raise £200! Get on your bike and help put the brakes on dementia this winter.
You can find more information and sign up today by heading to the Cycling Down Dementia website. Don’t forget to join the Cycling Down Dementia Facebook group too to stay up to date on the challenge, and encourage other riders who are taking part across the UK.
