Team Sky set to defend Championship lead at Revolution 30
The next round of the Revolution Championship will take place this Saturday (November 20) at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester.
Team Sky leads the competition having gained the maximum 10 points after round 1 on October 23. Sky will be favourites to retain their lead with a powerful endurance line up including Olympic Champion Geraint Thomas, Pete Kennaugh and Ben Swift.
The other teams will be boosted by the inclusion of continental stars with a host of current and past World Champions on show. Second placed Maxgear will be joined by six day specialist Leif Lampater with Team Motorpoint welcoming Andreas Muller. Current Scratch World Champion Alex Rasmussen will join CHEP and Franco Marvulli will line up for 4th place Le Col.
Marvulli (pictured) won the Grenoble six recently and with back to back six day races in Ghent and Zurich approaching the Swiss star will be using Revolution to test his form,
"I had super form until Grenoble, but then had to miss the Europeans due to illness," he commented. "Revolution will give me a view of how good my form is or how strong the other riders are!"
"Zurich is my home six day so will be my main goal for the season," he continued. "I have never won in Ghent and every year it's a hard battle so to make the podium would be super. My other main goal is to qualify for the Olympic Omnium. It will be hard with all the six day racing but I'm hopeful I can do it."
Marvulli will also be looking forward to the headline three man Madison having firsthand experience of the race on the six day scene.

"Three man is cool," he said. "We raced it in Stuttgart where I won twice so I have good experiences of the format. It means less time in the race but this makes it much faster so I think it will be fantastic."
"I always love racing Revolution," he continued. "Because of the crowd, the hard racing, the support of all the fans, I have made a lot of friends there, so will always give my best and try to win."
Marvulli will be racing for Le Col alongside Jon Mould and Andy Fenn. For Full details of all the teams and to purchase tickets go to www.cyclingrevolution.com.
