Assos Intermediate S7 jacket review

Teaming it up with a pair of shorts and knee-warmers means you retain some flexibility, while the zipped pocket makes it even more useful.

Can a single jacket replace three garments? Well that’s what Assos attempted with the Intermediate Evo of old and I’m afraid we’ve criticised it, as it never quite worked for us. Enter the S7 update.
Designed to be a jersey, arm warmers and windproof gilet in one, can it get over the problem of different thermal needs in arm and body?
Despite reducing the overall weight of the jacket to make it a very low-volume item and without losing the lovely fit and luxury feel of the Evo, I’d say that yes, the Swiss team have achieved the goal, making the Inter S7 not only very desirable and close fitting, but also a good balance to boot.
