Canyon Aeroad CFR Review: all the aero, none of the hassle

A superb performer on the flat, the Aeroad CFR was born for fast sprints. It's not bad on the climbs either, and surprisingly biddable in the workshop.

Cycling Weekly Verdict

The Canyon Aeroad CFR is a formidable aero machine with a strong blend of speed, stiffness, and user-friendly upgrades. It thrives on fast roads and in race environments but falls slightly short of being the perfect all-rounder thanks to an excusably heavier frame weight. Despite this, its value and aero performance make it a strong contender for anyone looking for a top-tier race bike. Just be mindful of the extra costs if you plan to tweak the fit.

Canyon’s latest Aeroad CFR has made waves this season, with multiple Tour de France victories and a clever design philosophy cementing its position as one of the best road bikes available today.

It’s billed as the “fastest bike in the peloton,” with world-class sprinters already adding stage wins to its résumé. The bike was designed with input from riders like Mathieu van der Poel - the question is, will we see this bike painted in rainbow colours for another twelve months?
